CREATING THE "MONSTER" ARTWORK W KENNY HARRIS (FULL VIDEO)

Happy Friday, Ceiling Fans!

Today I’m so honored to get to share the FULL VIDEO of the creation of the MONSTER album artwork by oil painter Kenny Harris!

I am always so moved by watching Kenny’s work unfold in real time. The skill behind every stroke and the planning and thought process revealed as it all comes together is breathtaking. He created the perfect visual representation of our song MONSTER for our album cover and I’m eternally grateful.

The finished original painting is for sale. Kenny’s work is usually represented by art galleries and this is a rare opportunity to own a Kenny Harris original without having to go through the gallery system and pay additional fees. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the artist, who generously donated his time and talent so we could have this amazing artwork represent our song in the world. Please reach out to me directly if you are interested in owning the original MONSTER portrait!

Just for fun, I also wanted to share some of the sketches that led to the final cover art concept.  As I've said before, the creative process isn't always pretty, and these beauties definitely prove that maxim...

Kenny and I have been friends since high school but our first artistic collaboration was not until last fall’s #WhereverYouAreTour. After watching the time-lapse of his painting morph from dawn to dusk over the course of my song “There Are No Shadows in LA,” he and I became captivated by the question of whether a painting could somehow exist as a time-based art form like music. That thought process led to our first truly collaborative piece, “The Light,” which will be released very soon!! Details to come…

As always, I’m so grateful you’re here.

Much love,

A
