Dear Alcott Friends and Family,

What a great school year it has been! We have enjoyed many amazing moments and the PTG looks forward to continuing our work of supporting students, providing resources for teachers, and building community. All of these programs and activities are made possible by the Alcott Annual Appeal. For those new to our community, the Alcott Annual Appeal is a one-time request for a tax deductible donation from you, our parent and guardian community.

We are thrilled that your generous contributions from last year’s Annual Appeal will allow the PTG to contribute $10,000 towards enhancing the playground this spring. Our teachers and staff have identified several improvements to make a more inviting and interesting play space for all students. The plan is to purchase a designated shed, outfitted with new and improved outdoor equipment for all to enjoy. These items will allow for greater imaginative and structured play, social skill development, and outdoor fun for our students. Your continued support makes this possible. Thank you!

The PTG spends approximately $125 per student each year to provide valuable enhancements to every student’s school experience.

You contributions help to fund:

  • $6,000 for the Alcott Family Fund: providing financial assistance to families in need with a variety of school related items such as backpacks, funding of school pictures, and book fair purchasing.

  • $6,000 towards Enrichment programs at each grade level (i.e. Acton Discovery Museum: Force & Motion workshop; That Poetry Guy: Writing Workshop; and Cultivating Curiosity: Rube Goldberg Design).

  • $7,000 for teacher stipends for necessary classroom items to enhance academic/social-emotional skills.

  • $3,000 towards METCO Family Friends and Events (i.e. October Apple Picking; Chez Vous Roller Skating; and an Art program at Umbrella Arts Center).

  • $4,000 for Staff appreciation (i.e. coffee truck, a catered lunch, and a holiday gift of Alcott golf

    umbrellas).

  • Funding for family-friendly events such as Multicultural Night, Math Night, and the Book Fair.
